Melchor, affectionately known as "the Boss" at the shop, began his professional journey as a successful marine engineer. Seeking new opportunities and to reunite with his wife Vivian, Melchor made the considerable decision to relocate to New Zealand. Upon settling in, he transitioned into the automotive industry, initially securing a role as a mechanic with a local bus company. His dedication and expertise quickly became apparent, earning him a promotion to chargehand. Over the span of 17 years, Melchor cultivated a deep and practical understanding of the automotive sector through extensive hands-on experience.

Entrepreneurial Journey with Fil Motors

He embarked on an entrepreneurial path by establishing his own automotive business. With just two mechanics supporting him at the outset, his enterprise began to build a reputation and has since evolved into the recognised Fil Motors Ltd. Despite encountering economic challenges along the way, Melchor's persistence and unwavering commitment have driven the company's steady growth, increased revenue, and enabled him to employ more workers as the auto shop expands.

Personal Interests and Customer Engagement

When not engaged with work responsibilities, Melchor enjoys tending to his aquarium, which has become a point of interest for customers visiting the shop. Outside of automotive repairs, he also finds enjoyment in playing poker and billiards with friends and mechanics at home, fostering camaraderie among the team. Although Melchor's demeanour can sometimes appear stern, he is well known for his kindness and readiness to assist anyone seeking his guidance. His sincere and supportive nature continues to positively impact both the staff and customers of Fil Motors Ltd.
